SAP TEST AUTOMATION
Cut regression effort, shorten release cycles, and go live on SAP S/4HANA without a hypercare bill.
THE BASICS
Tricentis SAP test automation uses model-based, codeless tooling to automate regression, performance and data testing across SAP and non-SAP systems. The Silicon Partners (TSP) implements the full Tricentis stack for SAP, including Tosca, LiveCompare and the SAP-branded Solution Extensions, so testing scales with your S/4HANA program instead of slowing it down.
Tricentis, with its test automation tools, answers three questions: what needs testing, does it work, and will it scale.
Tricentis LiveCompare answers the first by analyzing what actually changed in your system. Tricentis Tosca answers the second with automated end-to-end regression. Tricentis NeoLoad answers the third with performance testing under production-like load.
Tricentis sits in the SAP Transformation Management toolchain alongside SAP LeanIX, SAP Signavio and SAP Cloud ALM.
For an SAP enterprise that matters in practical terms. Tests integrate with SAP Solution Manager and SAP Cloud ALM out of the box, new SAP releases are supported without a lag, and the automation engine is model-based. Test cases describe what is being tested separately from how a screen renders it, so when a Fiori app changes you update one model rather than rewriting a hundred scripts.
THE TOOLCHAIN
TSP delivers the full Tricentis quality stack for SAP landscapes. Most products also carry an SAP-branded name, which is a common source of confusion during procurement. Here is the map.
| Tricentis product | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tricentis Tosca – SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing by Tricentis | Model-based, codeless end-to-end regression testing across SAP GUI, Fiori, S/4HANA, ECC, SuccessFactors, Ariba and non-SAP systems |
| Tricentis LiveCompare- SAP Change Impact Analysis by Tricentis | AI-driven analysis of transports, support packs and upgrade deltas to identify exactly which objects changed and which tests must run |
| Tricentis NeoLoad- SAP Enterprise Performance Testing by Tricentis | Load and performance testing for SAP applications on-premise, in the cloud, or hybrid |
| Tricentis Data Integrity- SAP Enterprise Data Integrity Testing by Tricentis | End-to-end reconciliation that confirms data survived migration and integration intact |
| Tricentis qTest | Enterprise test management, traceability from requirement to defect, and audit-ready reporting |
| Tricentis Vera | Digital validation for regulated environments, covering FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 and GxP |
| Tricentis Test Automation for SAP- Included with SAP Enterprise Support | Entry-level automation entitlement integrated with SAP Solution Manager 7.2 and SAP Cloud ALM |
If you hold an SAP Enterprise Support agreement, you are already entitled to Tricentis Test Automation for SAP as a term license. Most organizations we speak to have never activated it. It is usually the fastest place to start.
Our Services
TSP delivers Tricentis as a working testing capability, not a tool installation. Engagements typically cover six areas.
We map your landscape, release cadence, regulatory exposure and existing entitlements, then build a prioritized automation roadmap with a business case attached.
What determines whether an automation program ages well is framework design, not license count. TSP builds the module library, reusable business flows and test data strategy so the suite stays maintainable long after go-live.
LiveCompare tells you what changed and what that change touches. TSP wires it into your transport pipeline so regression scope follows actual risk rather than the size of your landscape.
Cutover testing, ECC test asset reuse, data reconciliation with Tricentis Data Integrity, and performance validation with NeoLoad before you find out the hard way whether the environment scales.
For life sciences, medical device and other GxP environments, TSP implements Tricentis Vera to move computer systems validation from paper approvals to controlled digital records with full traceability.
TSP runs regression as a managed service, or builds the internal capability and hands it over complete with an automation operating model, role definitions and CoE governance.
S/4HANA Programs
An S/4HANA program spends a large share of its budget proving that business processes still work. Traditional testing handles this by pulling business users into weeks of UAT and testing broadly rather than precisely. It is slow, expensive, and still leaves gaps.
Tricentis changes the sequence. LiveCompare analyzes what a transport or support pack actually touches and narrows regression scope to the objects genuinely at risk. Tosca then executes that scope automatically, including the end-to-end processes that cross into Salesforce, Ariba or a warehouse system. NeoLoad confirms the environment holds under load. Data Integrity confirms that what arrived matches what left.
The commercial effect is that testing stops being the reason your go-live date moves.

Engagement Model
Landscape review, release cadence, current test assets, entitlement check and regulatory scope. You get a prioritized automation roadmap with a business case.
Environment setup, framework and module library design, LiveCompare connected to the transport pipeline, and a first automated regression suite covering your highest-risk end-to-end processes.
Coverage expansion across process areas, CI/CD and transport pipeline integration, qTest reporting, and Vera validation controls where regulation requires them.
Managed regression, suite maintenance against each SAP release, and CoE enablement so your team can carry it independently.
Why TSP
Testing is not a separate practice bolted onto a migration at the end. At TSP it sits inside the same team that runs the transformation.
SAP transformations delivered
S/4HANA engagements
Prebuilt SAP test automation bots
Professionals globally
Deep S/4HANA delivery experience across brownfield, greenfield and RISE with SAP programs, which is what tells us which business processes actually carry the risk.
TSP TestGenius identifies migration test scope before go-live. TSP Kelvin heatmaps process complexity so automation targets the right areas first.
We implement, run and hand over. Framework design, CoE governance and managed regression are part of the engagement rather than an upsell.
FAQ
What is Tricentis SAP test automation?
It is automated testing of SAP business processes using the Tricentis quality platform. Tricentis LiveCompare identifies what changed and what needs testing, Tricentis Tosca executes automated end-to-end regression across SAP and connected systems, and Tricentis NeoLoad validates performance under load. SAP sells and supports the core products as SAP Solution Extensions.
What is the difference between Tricentis Tosca and SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing?
They are the same underlying engine sold under two names. SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing by Tricentis is the SAP-branded edition, purchased on SAP paper and supported through SAP. Standalone Tricentis Tosca is bought from Tricentis. SAP-dominant landscapes often prefer the SAP-branded edition; organizations with significant non-SAP scope or an existing Tricentis contract often prefer standalone Tosca.
Do we already have a Tricentis license?
Possibly. Customers with an SAP Enterprise Support agreement are entitled to Tricentis Test Automation for SAP as a term license, integrated with SAP Solution Manager 7.2 and SAP Cloud ALM. Many organizations hold this entitlement without ever activating it. Checking your entitlement is the first step in any tooling decision.
What is SAP change impact analysis, and why does it matter?
Change impact analysis determines which parts of your SAP system a proposed change affects, so you test what is genuinely at risk instead of testing everything. Tricentis LiveCompare, sold by SAP as SAP Change Impact Analysis by Tricentis, ingests transports, support packages and upgrade deltas and maps them to affected objects, configuration, security roles and existing test cases. It is usually the largest single source of cost reduction in an SAP testing program.
What is model-based test automation, and why does it matter for SAP?
Model-based automation separates what is being tested from how the interface presents it. Instead of recording a script against specific screen elements, the test references a reusable model of the business object. When SAP changes a Fiori app or a GUI transaction in a release, you update the model once rather than repairing every script that touched it. In an SAP landscape that receives regular updates, this is the difference between a suite that survives and one that quietly stops being run.
How long does it take to see results from SAP test automation?
A first automated regression suite covering your highest-risk end-to-end processes is typically standing up within the first two months, with broader coverage building over the following quarter. The pace depends on landscape complexity, environment availability and how much existing test documentation can be reused.
Can Tricentis test non-SAP systems in the same end-to-end process?
Yes. Tosca covers Salesforce, Oracle, ServiceNow, Workday, web, mobile, API and mainframe alongside SAP. This matters because most real business processes cross system boundaries, and a test that stops at the SAP edge does not prove the process works.
How does Tricentis support GxP and regulated environments?
Tricentis Vera provides digital validation, replacing paper-based computer systems validation with controlled electronic approvals, e-signatures and auditable records aligned to FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 and GxP expectations. It integrates with Tosca, qTest and Jira so compliance controls sit inside the testing workflow rather than running alongside it.
A Phase 0 readiness call covers your landscape, release cadence, existing Tricentis entitlement and regression footprint, and gives you a prioritized automation roadmap with a business case.
