How do we move planning from SAP BPC to SAP Analytics Cloud?
Rebuild planning on SAC one process at a time, and simplify as you go. Dimensions and logic move to SAC models, data actions and multi-actions. Actuals connect live from S/4HANA or BW. Planners can keep working in Excel through the SAC add-in. Running old and new in parallel for one cycle builds confidence.

Key questions
What finance and IT leaders ask about SAP Analytics Cloud
Can planners keep working in Excel?
Yes. The SAC add-in for Microsoft Excel lets planners enter and review plans in Excel, on the same model as everyone else. Changes save back to SAC, so there’s still one version of the plan.
How does SAC connect to S/4HANA and BW?
Through live connections, where data stays in the source and reports show it as it changes, or through import connections, where data is loaded on a schedule. Planning usually uses imported actuals, and reporting often uses live connections. TSP picks per use case.
How quickly can we see results?
A first dashboard or planning process can be live in weeks when the data is ready. TSP starts with one use case leadership cares about, then extends the model to more teams.

FAQ
Questions about SAP Analytics Cloud
Straight answers to what SAP leaders ask us most.
What is SAP Analytics Cloud?
SAP Analytics Cloud is SAP’s cloud software for business intelligence, planning and predictive analytics. It covers dashboards and reporting, financial and operational planning, and machine learning forecasts, and is part of SAP Business Data Cloud.
Is SAP Analytics Cloud part of Business Data Cloud?
Yes. SAP Analytics Cloud is one of the core parts of SAP Business Data Cloud, alongside Datasphere. It can also be used on its own. See SAP Business Data Cloud.
What are data actions and multi-actions?
Planning automation in SAC. A data action runs calculations such as allocations or version copies. A multi-action chains several steps, such as loading actuals, running a forecast and publishing a version, into one click.
Can SAC use non-SAP data?
Yes. SAC connects to many non-SAP sources directly, and Datasphere can combine SAP and non-SAP data into one model for SAC to use.
Does SAP Analytics Cloud include Joule?
Joule, SAP’s AI copilot, is available in SAP Analytics Cloud for asking questions in plain language and getting help with stories and plans. Capabilities grow with each release, so TSP checks what’s available for your edition.
