Zero-copy sharing makes those products available in your existing platform without rebuilding pipelines, so your data teams keep their tools and get cleaner SAP data.
How Business Data Cloud and an existing data platform share the work
| SAP Business Data Cloud | Your existing data platform | |
|---|---|---|
| Strongest at | SAP data with business context, planning, SAP AI | Enterprise-wide data engineering and custom models |
| SAP data | Delivered as data products, kept current by SAP | Received through zero-copy sharing |
| Non-SAP data | Combined in Datasphere where SAP context matters | Your main home for it |
| Who uses it | Finance, planners, SAP data teams | Data engineers and data scientists |
The right split depends on your data, skills and use cases. TSP works it out during the assessment.

Key questions
What data and IT leaders ask about SAP Business Data Cloud
Is Business Data Cloud included in RISE with SAP?
No. Business Data Cloud is licensed separately from RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP. It’s designed to work with them, so S/4HANA Cloud data reaches it as ready-made data products. Your SAP account team handles licensing, and TSP shapes the scope around the use cases you want first.
What happens to the SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere we already use?
They carry forward. SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere are core parts of Business Data Cloud, so your models, stories and data flows stay in use. TSP reviews your current setup and plans how it fits the new platform, including which custom extracts data products can replace.
Where should we start?
With one use case where SAP data products already exist and leadership cares about the result, such as working capital or a financial close dashboard. It proves the platform quickly and sets the pattern for everything after.
