SAP test automation

Tricentis test automation for SAP

Tosca, LiveCompare and the rest of the Tricentis platform, implemented and run by a team that knows SAP. TSP ARIA writes the test scope and scripts, Tosca runs them, and results land in SAP Cloud ALM.

On SAP Enterprise Support? You may already hold a Tricentis entitlement

Tricentis is a model-based test automation platform for SAP and other enterprise applications, which SAP also sells as solution extensions such as SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing by Tricentis. The Silicon Partners (TSP), a Tricentis partner and SAP Gold Partner, implements Tosca, LiveCompare and NeoLoad for SAP, builds the test framework and runs managed regression.

  • ~70%Shorter testing timelines
  • 750+Pre-built SAP test bots
  • 200+S/4HANA engagements

Which Tricentis products do SAP teams use?

LiveCompare shows what a change affects and needs testing, Tosca tests whether processes still work, and NeoLoad tests whether the system will cope with real volumes. Data Integrity, qTest and Vera cover migrated data, test management and regulated validation.

What TSP delivers

Tricentis for SAP, from assessment to managed testing

Executive reviewing test strategy
  • Assessment and roadmap

Your landscape, release cadence, regulatory exposure and existing entitlements mapped into a prioritized roadmap and business case.

  • Tosca framework and module library

Reusable business flows, a shared component library and a test data strategy, maintainable across releases.

  • Risk-based scoping with LiveCompare

LiveCompare connected to your transport pipeline, so each regression run follows the risk a change actually carries.

  • Migration and upgrade testing

ECC test assets reused, data reconciled with Data Integrity and performance proven with NeoLoad before cutover.

  • Validation for regulated landscapes

Tricentis Vera for GxP, moving validation from paper to digital records with electronic signatures.

  • Managed testing and enablement

Managed regression on every SAP release, or a governed center of excellence handed to your team.

How we deliver

From a two-week strategy to a full regression suite

  1. Test strategy

Two weeks to set program priorities, review how you test today, check your Tricentis entitlements and identify the automation opportunities with the best ROI.

  2. Pilot

In 4 to 5 weeks, Tricentis is configured, the base framework is in place, your first five automated tests run and the program’s ROI is defined.

  3. Expand

Over 8 to 10 weeks, test cases are prioritized, more are automated, the framework grows and long-term goals are set, including where agentic testing fits.

  4. Run

From three months, the full regression suite is automated, connected to your DevOps pipeline and reported in SAP Cloud ALM, and your team is trained to use it.

  5. Managed testing

Ongoing execution, reporting, defect triage, script maintenance and new tests for new work, so the suite stays current with every SAP release.

How TSP ARIA feeds Tosca

TSP ARIA does the groundwork before Tosca builds a single test:

  • Scope and scenarios: ARIA reads your process documents, specs, recordings and manual scripts, and generates every scenario with its variations and fields.
  • Test data: TSP ARIA TestMiner mines scenario-ready data from your live SAP tables.
  • Gap analysis: ARIA compares its output with your existing scripts, so the business revalidates only what changed.

Validated scenarios then become Tosca tests, AI-assisted with Tosca Copilot and run at scale on Tosca’s distributed execution. Results and defects sync with SAP Cloud ALM and Jira. See agentic testing with TSP ARIA.

Do we already own Tricentis through SAP?

Possibly. SAP includes an entry-level Tricentis test automation entitlement for SAP Enterprise Support customers, connected to SAP Cloud ALM, and many companies have never switched it on. Checking what you already hold is the first step of a TSP assessment, before anything new is bought.

FAQ

Questions about Tricentis for SAP

Straight answers to what SAP leaders ask us most.

Talk to an SAP expert

Is Tosca the same as SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing?

Yes, the same engine under two names. SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing by Tricentis is bought through SAP and appears on your SAP contract. Standalone Tosca is bought from Tricentis directly. TSP works with either, and helps you decide which route fits your contracts and roadmap.

Why model-based test automation?

Model-based tests describe a process once and keep that description separate from the screens. When SAP changes a Fiori app or a transaction in a release, you update one model, and every test that uses it is fixed. Script-based tests would each need repairing, which is what makes them expensive to keep.

How soon do we see results?

A pilot puts your first five automated tests in place in 4 to 5 weeks, with the framework your suite will grow on. High-risk processes come first, so the earliest tests protect the processes that matter most. A full regression suite typically follows within three months.

Can Tricentis test our non-SAP systems too?

Yes. Tosca covers Salesforce, Oracle, ServiceNow, Workday, web and mobile apps, APIs and mainframes, so an end-to-end process that starts in a CRM and ends in SAP can be tested as one flow.

Does Tricentis support GxP validation?

Yes, through Tricentis Vera. It replaces paper-based validation with digital records, electronic signatures and audit trails, and connects to Tosca, qTest and Jira, so evidence is captured as tests run. It suits life sciences companies validating SAP under FDA and EU rules.

Tricentis or UiPath?

Both work well for SAP, and TSP partners with both. Tricentis suits SAP-heavy landscapes that want model-based regression at scale and risk-based scoping. UiPath suits companies already automating on UiPath. See the side-by-side comparison.
