SAP Cloud ERP for distributors who count every margin point

Thin margins leave no room for slow order entry, pricing errors or missed rebates. TSP helps distributors move to S/4HANA and puts agents to work on the orders, payments and paperwork that fill their teams’ day.

Planning a move to SAP S/4HANA See what changes

Wholesale distributors run on SAP for pricing, rebates, inventory and high-volume order-to-cash. The Silicon Partners (TSP), an SAP Gold Partner and UiPath Diamond Partner, helps distributors move from ECC to S/4HANA, including the public cloud through SAP GROW, and automates sales orders, cash application and month-end close with AI agents.

What we hear

What makes SAP different in distribution

  • Pricing and margins

Customer-specific prices, contracts and surcharges that have to be right on every order line.

  • Rebates and chargebacks

Supplier and customer rebate agreements that change shape when you move to S/4HANA.

  • Orders at volume

Orders by EDI, email, PDF and portal, all needing entry and checks before they ship.

  • Warehouses and inventory

Stock across branches and warehouses, with classic Warehouse Management changing in S/4HANA.

  • Cash and credit

Payments to match, deductions to resolve and credit exposure to watch every day.

  • Suppliers and purchasing

Vendor onboarding, PO follow-up and drop-ship orders that still run on email and spreadsheets.

Key questions

What distribution leaders ask us about SAP

  • What happens to our rebates in S/4HANA?

Classic SD rebate processing is replaced by Settlement Management in S/4HANA, which handles customer and supplier rebates through condition contracts. Existing agreements need a plan: settle them in ECC before cutover, or move them into condition contracts. TSP maps your rebate types in Phase 0, so the change is scoped and tested well before go-live.

    About Phase 0

  • Do we have to change our warehouse setup?

Usually, yes. Classic Warehouse Management isn’t S/4HANA’s long-term warehouse option. Distributors move to Extended Warehouse Management, embedded or standalone, or to the simpler Stock Room Management for basic warehouses. The right choice depends on your volumes and processes, and Phase 0 settles it with you before migration planning starts.

  • Is the public cloud realistic for a distributor?

For many distributors, yes. SAP GROW puts you on S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, with standard processes and updates from SAP. It fits best when your pricing, warehouse and order processes are close to standard. TSP has delivered S/4HANA Public Cloud for a US industrial distributor, and Phase 0 tests the fit against your own system.

    About SAP GROW

  • Where does AI help distributors today?

Order entry and cash are the usual starting points. Agents read orders from email, PDF and EDI, check the customer, address, material and unit of measure against SAP, run the credit check and create the order. Others classify remittances and apply payments, or reconcile GR/IR and vendor accounts at month-end. A pilot goes live in 6 to 8 weeks.

    Agentic automation

  • Do we have to move off SAP ECC by 2027?

SAP’s mainstream maintenance for ECC ends at the end of 2027, and extended maintenance to 2030 costs extra. A distribution migration also has to fit around your peak season and your trading partners’ EDI testing, so decisions made now decide when your cutover can land. Phase 0 gives you a timeline that fits all of it.

FAQ

Questions about Wholesale Distribution

Straight answers to what SAP leaders ask us most.

Talk to an SAP expert

Will our EDI connections keep working after the move?

Yes, once each one is retested. Phase 0 lists every trading partner connection, and the migration plan schedules partner testing early, since your customers and suppliers have their own calendars. Orders, invoices, ship notices and payments are all tested before cutover.

What changes for credit management in S/4HANA?

Credit checks move from classic SD credit management to SAP Credit Management, part of S/4HANA’s finance functions. Credit limits, check rules and blocked-order workflows need setting up again, and TSP includes that in the migration plan and testing.

Can S/4HANA handle catch weight and lot tracking for food distribution?

Yes. S/4HANA includes catch weight management for products sold by actual weight, and batch management for lot tracking and expiry dates. TSP configures both around how your warehouses receive, store and ship product.
